In February 2003, Mike Willis and I traveled to Lapp Herefords, Hayes Center , Nebraska to pick up a new herd sire we had only seen in photos. When we arrived and saw him for the first time, he was better than we expected. Not only does he have great EPD's himself, but his Sire and grand Sire have tremendous EPD's and accuracy credentials. Both have 4 Trait leading numbers in their EPD's.

Although 70-80% of our Dams have fully pigmented eyes, it was only being incorporated into some of our calves each year. We were hoping that Red Dog 87L was going to change those percentages, and indeed he has. Of the 35 calves sired by him this year, all but 2 have pigmented eyes. He will have a positive influence on our herd for years to come.
